Attic Restoration in 800 Sq. Ft. Rental Property – Insulation Removal, Air-Sealing, Blown In Fiberglass in Clovis, CA

She had just bought a home and was planning on using it as a rental property, but wanted to have the attic cleaned up and new insulation added to make it more comfortable for her tenant. We came out and inspected her attic and found that there was virtually no insulation present and the attic was littered with debris and rodent feces. We took the following steps to execute the attic restoration for Carol and her tenant:
- vacuumed out the old, contaminated insulation
- cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer, removing irritants, contaminants, and odors
- air-sealed leakage points on the attic floor including top plates, wiring and plumbing penetrations, recessed lights, and registers
- installed rodent-proof barriers to keep rodents and other pests from re-entering the attic
- blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, bringing the attic to the Energy Star-recommended level for our climate
