Blown In Fiberglass Insulation Upgrade to R38 in 2000 Sq. Ft. Home in Fresno, CA

David contacted us because he had just gone through his first summer in his new house and it had been incredibly hot and uncomfortable, despite running his air conditioner constantly. As a result, his cooling bills were high. He was looking to both reduce his bills and make his home more comfortable. We came out and inspected his attic and found that David had only 8 inches of insulation present, well below the R38 level recommended by Energy Star for our climate. We determined that an insulation upgrade was needed to help David achieve his goals.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points to help prevent airflow between the attic and the home’s living spaces. Next, we blew in about 6 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation to bring his home up to an R38 level.

As a result of the insulation upgrade we performed, David and his family will now enjoy a cool, comfortable home in summer, a warm home in winter, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 25% for as long as they reside in that home.
