Attic Restoration in 2600 Sq. Ft. Home with Blown In Fiberglass in Clovis, CA

Jesse learned about the benefits of a Tyson Energy Solutions attic restoration through Fresno Home Magazine. He contacted us and when we came out to inspect his attic, we discovered that his attic contained only about 3 inches of old cellulose insulation present, with dozens of air leakage points visible through the low insulation. Since Jesse wanted to reduce his heating and cooling costs and make his home more comfortable, he decided on a comprehensive attic restoration.

We took the following steps to complete the attic restoration in Jesse’s attic:

• Vacuumed out the old insulation.
• Air-sealed the attic floor using closed-cell foam to close up all holes, gaps, and cracks. This included top plates, wiring and plumbing penetrations, can lights, and registers.
• Installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other pests from entering the attic.
• Cleaned and sanitized the attic to eliminate contaminants and irritants.
• Blew in new fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, bringing the attic to the Energy Star-recommended level.
