From Zero Insulation to R38 – Blown In Fiberglass and Baffles Installed in 350 Sq. Ft. Area in Fresno, CA

Steve was referred to us by another Tyson customer who’d had work done and was pleased with the results. Steve had an uninsulated area in his home that he wanted insulated to make it a more comfortable temperature and to help reduce his heating and cooling bills. The area was a 350 sq. ft. room  so it made up almost 20% of the space in his home.

We began the project by air-sealing visible leakage points with closed cell foam. This is done to help prevent airflow between the home’s living spaces and the attic. We installed baffles to prevent the insulation from blocking the soffit vents, ensuring that the attic’s ventilation would remain intact. We then blew in premium fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, which is the Energy Star-recommended level for our climate in the Fresno area.

Because of the insulation added in Steve’s home, he will experience an overall more comfortable temperature in his home and reduced heating and cooling costs for as long as they reside in that house.
