Full Attic Restoration with Air Sealing and Rodent-Proofing in Fresno, CA

Gary reached out to us because his home was struggling to stay cool in the summer, causing his air conditioner to work overtime. Upon inspecting his attic, we found the root of the problem—old, insufficient insulation and significant dust and debris buildup. With only 6 inches of deteriorated insulation, his home was losing a substantial amount of conditioned air, leading to high energy costs and discomfort.

To resolve the issue, we performed a full attic restoration. First, we removed all the old, ineffective insulation and thoroughly cleaned the attic space. We then sanitized the entire area with Nisus DSV, a powerful disinfectant designed to eliminate bacteria, mold, and other contaminants. We also installed rodent-proof barriers to keep rodents and other pests out of the attic. Next, we meticulously air-sealed all gaps, including top plates, wire penetrations, and registers, to prevent energy loss and improve indoor air quality.

Once the attic was fully prepped, we installed 14 inches of premium fiberglass insulation, bringing it up to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level. This upgrade significantly improved the home’s energy efficiency.
