Insulation upgrade to R38 with blown in fiberglass in 850 sq. ft. home in Porterville, CA

Chad learned about Tyson Emerguy Solutions at the Fresno Home Show. He was looking to add insulation in his Porterville home because he knew that his insulation was low and it was impacting his home’s temperatures and comfort. When we came out and inspected his attic, we discovered that he indeed only had three inches of old tree bark insulation present. We determined that an insulation upgrade would be the best option for Chad to reach his goals.

We began the job by air-sealing visible leakage points to help prevent airflow between the attic and home’s living spaces. We then blew in fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, adding about 11 inches on top of his existing insulation.

As a result of the insulation upgrade, Chad will now enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home during summer, a warmer home during winter, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 25% for as long as he lives in his home. Should he ever decide to sell his home, the resale value will be higher than if he hadn’t had the insulation upgraded.
