R38 Insulation Upgrade Using Blown In Fiberglass Insulation in 1700 Sq. Ft. Home in Lemoore, CA

Cameron was referred to Tyson through his brother, who’d had insulation added in his attic and had noticed a huge difference in his home’s comfort and in his cooling costs. We came out and examined Cameron’s attic and found that there was only about 2 inches of insulation present and debris was scattered throughout. Cameron decided to have us perform an insulation upgrade in order to help his home feel more comfortable and lower his bills.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points using closed-cell foam. This is done to help prevent air from flowing between the attic and living spaces of the home. We then blew in 14 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation, bringing the attic up to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.

As a result of the upgraded insulation, Cameron and his family will enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home in summer, a warmer home in winter, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for as long as they live in the home.
