Steve reached out to us because his large home was becoming unmanageably expensive to heat and cool. With the summer right around the corner, Steve wanted to address the issue ASAP. When we came out and inspected his attic, we found that it had only about 3-4 inches of old, dirty insulation, with lots of roofing debris scattered throughout the attic. We determined that a complete attic restoration was his best option.

To begin, we sucked out all of the old insulation and disposed of it. We then used DSV sanitizer to clean the attic. Next, we meticulously sealed air leakage points to help prevent air from being able to move between the attic and the living spaces of the home. We also installed rodent-proof barriers to ensure that rodents and other pests would be deterred from entering the attic. Lastly, we blew in new fiberglass insulation to an R38 level — 14 inches.

As a result of the comprehensive attic restoration, Steve and his family will not only enjoy reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30%, but also more comfortable temperatures and better indoor air quality for the life of their home.

This homeowner contacted us because his home was hot during the summer months, with some rooms in the house getting so hot, that no one wanted to spend time in them. When we inspected his attic, we discovered that his home only had 3-4 inches of insulation, with the joists being uncovered by insulation and roofing debris scattered throughout the attic. In the areas of the home that were significantly warmer, we saw that there was little to no insulation. We determined that we needed to upgrade his insulation to help the house retain its cool air.

We started by air-sealing visible leakage points to help prevent air from traveling between the hot attic and the home’s living spaces. We then blew in fiberglass insulation to a level of R38, or 14 inches.

As a result of the insulation upgrade, this homeowner was able to immediately notice a difference in how frequently his air conditioner was turning on and running, and the rooms in the home that were once unlivable became cool and comfortable. The family will be able to enjoy a more comfortable home and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for as long as they live in their house.

Jerry and Gigi reached out to us seeking a resolution to their hot and stuffy home and high cooling bills. We came out to their home and inspected their attic and found the root cause of their uncomfortable home: the attic only had about 3 inches of insulation present. We determined that an insulation upgrade was needed to help them achieve their goals of reduced bills and a more comfortable house.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points. This helps prevent the flow of air between the attic and the home’s living spaces. Next, we blew in 10 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation, bringing the attic to the R38 level recommended by Energy Star.

As a result of the upgrade we performed, Jerry and Gigi will enjoy a cool, comfortable home during the summers, a warmer home during winters, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for the life of their home.

Michael contacted us because he wanted to prepare his home for the upcoming summer months, anticipating the extreme heat of the Central Valley. Because of the rising costs of cooling his home in the summers, he wanted to ensure that his house was as energy-efficient as possible. When we inspected his attic, we found that he only had about 7-8 inches of old, dirty insulation — well below the Energy Star-recommended 14 inches. We also saw evidence of rodent activity in his attic, which further contaminated the space. Given that he wanted his home as efficient as possible for summer, we determined that a complete attic restoration was in order.

We began the process by removing all of the old, contaminated insulation and disposing of it. We then cleaned and sanitized the entire attic using DSV sanitizer. Once the attic was fully cleaned, we used closed-cell foam to seal off air leakage points. This helps reduce the ability of air to transfer between the attic and the living spaces of the home. We also installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other pests from entering the attic again. Lastly, we blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to a depth of 14 inches, bringing the home up to recommended standards.

As a result of our comprehensive attic restoration process, Michael and his family will experience reduced heating and cooling bills by up to 30% year-round. They will also enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home in the summers, a warmer home in the winters, and better indoor air quality since contaminants and irritants won’t be freely flowing from the attic into the home.

Lori reached out to us because she was searching for a solution to her high cooling costs. Because her home felt uncomfortably warm during the extreme Central Valley summers, Lori felt like she had no other solution than to run her air conditioner constantly. She said that she felt her home wasn’t retaining the cool air, so her AC was turning on and off frequently throughout the day. We conducted an attic audit in her home and found that her insulation was low with only about 6 inches present. Lori decided to have us perform an insulation upgrade and add an additional 10 inches of insulation to bring her attic to an R49 level.

The job was only about 2 hours altogether. We expertly placed attic markers around the attic to ensure that we could accurately measure the amount of insulation to add. We then blew in an additional 10 inches of fiberglass insulation.

After the insulation upgrade, Lori and her family now enjoy a cooler home temperature during the summer months. Her home will also be warm and cozy during the winter, and her monthly heating and cooling costs will be lower by up to 30% for as long as she resides there.
