Manuel contacted us because his 2400 sq. ft. home was expensive to keep cool during the summer months. Despite his high cooling costs and his air conditioner running constantly, his house never felt cool and comfortable. When we came out to inspect his attic, we found that Manuel’s attic only had about 4 inches of insulation present, and there was old, dirty batting insulation scattered throughout the space. We determined that to help him achieve his goals of reducing his cooling costs and making his home more comfortable, a full attic restoration was the best option.

We began by sucking out all of the old, dirty insulation and disposing of it. Next, we cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer to help eliminate the contaminants and irritants. We then installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other pests from entering the attic. We also meticulously identified and air-sealed potential leakage points, including top plates, registers, recessed lights, and plumbing and wiring penetrations. The last step was blowing in 14 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation, which brought the attic to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.

As a result of the comprehensive attic restoration we completed, Manuel and his family will enjoy a cool, comfortable home during the summer months, a warmer home in the winter, reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 50%, and better indoor air quality for as long as they live in that home.

Jerod called Tyson Energy Solutions because his home was hot and stuffy even though his HVAC system was running constantly. He was frustrated by his high cooling costs, especially given that his home never really felt cool. We inspected his attic and found that he only had about 3-4 inches of insulation present, with the floor joists being visible through the insulation. This was a major contributing factor to his home’s inability to stay cool, as heat was easily able to penetrate the wood and thin layer of insulation. We determined that a full attic restoration would best address Jerod’s concerns.

We began by sucking out all of the old, contaminated insulation. We then used DSV sanitizer to clean and sanitize the attic to eliminate contaminants and irritants. Next, we installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other pests from entering the attic, and we identified and air-sealed leakage points including: top plates, wiring and plumbing penetrations, registers, and recessed lights. The final step was blowing in 14 inches of fiberglass insulation to bring the attic up to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.

Because of the work we did in Jerod’s home, he and his family will enjoy reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 50%, a cooler home during summer, a warmer home during winter, and better indoor air quality for as long as they reside in the home.

Sean reached out to us because his 3100-square-foot house always felt how and uncomfortable, even though his cooling bills were astronomical because his air conditioner ran constantly. We came out and took a look in his attic and discovered the root problem: his attic only had about 3 inches of insulation. This allowed the hot attic air to permeate the living spaces of his home, thus making it hotter. We determined that an insulation upgrade up to R38 was necessary.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points to help prevent the air from flowing between the attic and the home’s living spaces. We then blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches. This brought the attic up to Energy Star-recommended levels for our climate.

As a result of the insulation upgrade we performed, Sean and his family will not only enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home in summer, but also a warmer home during winter, and reduced heating and cooling usage and costs by up to 30% for as long as they live in that house.

Don contacted Tyson Energy Solutions because his air conditioner was running constantly during the summer months, yet his house always felt hot and uncomfortable. He was looking to keep his home cool as well as reduce his energy bills. We came out and inspected Don’s attic and found that he only had about 3-4 inches of insulation present. We determined that an insulation upgrade was Don’s best option to resolving his comfort issues and high bills.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points with closed-cell foam. This was done to help prevent air flowing between the attic and the home’s living spaces. We then blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, the Energy Star-recommended level.

As a result of the work we did, Don and his family will now enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home during the summer, a warmer home during winter, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for the life of the home.

Eddie contacted Tyson Energy Solutions because his home constantly felt hot and stuffy during the summers. Because of this, his air conditioner was running 15+ hours a day and his cooling costs were unmanageable. When we inspected his attic, we found that he only had about 7 inches of batting insulation present. Batting insulation is inefficient because not only does it have a lower R-value (or ability to resist heat flow), but it also allows air to flow between the batts and into the home’s living spaces. We determined that an upgrade to R49 value was necessary to help Eddie reach his goals of a more comfortable home and lower cooling costs.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points. This helps prevent air from flowing between the attic and the living spaces of the home. We then blew in 9 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation, bringing the home to an R49 level, which is above current Energy Star standards.

Because of the insulation upgrade we performed, Eddie will experience reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% and a more temperate, comfortable home for as long as he lives there.
