Jeff contacted us because we had installed a whole house fan for him but as it was getting closer to summer, he wanted to upgrade his insulation. We had informed him that his insulation was low when we installed the whole house fan in January, but he wanted to upgrade his insulation at a later date. When we initially inspected his attic, we observed that his insulation was low — only about 4 inches. He knew from our previous visit that upgrading his insulation would keep the cool air in his house longer and reduce his dependency on his air conditioner during the summer.

We began the insulation upgrade by sealing off visible holes, gaps, and cracks. This helps to prevent air from flowing between his attic and the living spaces of his home. Next, we blew in premium, fiberglass insulation up to an R38 level, or 14 inches.

As a result of the insulation upgrade, Jeff and his family will enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home during summers, a warmer home during winters, and reduced heating and cooling costs for the life of their home.

Terri contacted us because her house felt hot and stuffy during the summer, and she wanted to see if we would be able to install a whole house fan for her. When we inspected her attic, we found that we would be able to install the whole house fan, but we also saw that her insulation was extremely low — only about 2-3 inches, well below the 14 inches recommended by Energy Star. We determined that we could upgrade her insulation and install the whole house fan to help keep Terri’s home cool and comfortable.

We began by blowing in premium, fiberglass insulation to bring the attic to the recommended R38 level of resistance to heat transfer. Simultaneously, we located the ideal spot for the fan and installed it. We also air-sealed visible leakage points using closed-cell foam in order to prevent air from traveling between the attic and the living spaces of the home.

As a result of the insulation upgrade and whole house fan installation, Terri will enjoy a cooler, more comfortable house during summer, reduced cooling costs by up to 90%, and reduced heating costs during winter. Her indoor air quality will also be greatly improved. She will experience these benefits for as long as she lives in that home.

The homeowner reached out to Tyson Energy Solutions because her house felt hot, stuff, and uncomfortable, despite her high cooling bills. When we inspected the homeowner’s attic, we found that there was only about 5 inches of insulation, far less than the 14 inches recommended by Energy Star for our climate. We decided that an insulation upgrade was the best option to bring the homeowner’s cooling costs down and make the home cooler and more comfortable.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points using closed-cell foam. This helps to prevent air from flowing between the attic and the living spaces of the home. We then blew in premium fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, or 14 inches. This will help to keep the cool, conditioned air in the home and prevent the hot, attic air out of the home.

As a result of the insulation upgrade, this homeowner and her family will enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home during summer, a warmer home during winter, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for as long as they live in that house.

Donna and David contacted us because their house felt incredibly hot, no matter how low they turned their thermostat. Because their air conditioner was running all day long, their cooling costs were extremely high. They needed a solution to their hot and stuffy house and high bills. When we inspected the attic, we discovered that they only had about 2-3 inches of insulation present, as well as roofing debris littered throughout the attic. We determined that an attic restoration and attic fan installation was the best choice to help them achieve their goals

We began by removing all of the old insulation and roofing debris and then cleaning and sanitizing the attic with DSV sanitizer. This helped eliminate the contaminants and irritants in the attic. We then thoroughly located all air leakage points and sealed them with closed-cell foam. This process greatly reduces the air that is able to flow between the attic and the living spaces of the home. We also installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other pests from entering the attic space. Lastly, we blew in 14 inches of fiberglass insulation to bring the home up to Energy Star minimum standards.

We then installed the QuietCool Smart Gable Attic Fan 3.0, which draws cooler air into the attic automatically in order to further mitigate the scorching heat of the attic.

As a result of the work we did, Donna, David, and their family will enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home in the summer, a warmer home in the winter, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 50% for as long as they live in their home.

Scott reached out to Tyson because his house was constantly hot and stuffy during the summer and frigid during winter. He not only wanted to make his home more comfortable, but reduce his heating and cooling costs as well. When we inspected his attic, we discovered that there was only about 5 inches of insulation present, with the floor joists being visible under the old insulation. We also found evidence of rodent activity in his attic. Because of these factors, we determined that an attic restoration was his best option for achieving his goals of comfort, cleanliness, and lower bills.

We began by sucking out all of the old insulation in the attic. We then cleaned the attic using DSV sanitizer. To prevent air from flowing between the attic and the home’s living spaces, we air-sealed all leakage points including top plates, registers, recessed lights, and plumbing and wiring penetrations. We also installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other pests from re-entering. Lastly, we blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to an R38 level.

As a result of the attic restoration we performed, Scott and his family will enjoy a more temperate home, better indoor air quality, a rodent-free attic, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 50% for as long as they live in the home.
