The homeowner contacted us because his home was uncomfortably hot. He had already called the HVAC repairman but was told there was nothing wrong with his AC. The repairman told him it was likely an issue with his insulation. When we inspected his home, we found that the attic only had about 4-5 inches of old insulation present. We determined that by upgrading his insulation, he would have a much more comfortable home.

We began the insulation upgrade by air-sealing visible air leakage points. This helps to prevent air from moving between the attic and the living spaces of the home. Next, we brought his insulation up to R38, or 14 inches, by blowing in premium, fiberglass insulation. This brought the home up to current building code and Energy Star recommendations.

As a result of the insulation upgrade, the homeowner and his family will enjoy a cooler home during summers, a warmer home during winters, and reduced heating and cooling costs for the life of their home.

Val contacted us because she was concerned that her home was constantly warm, despite the fact that her air conditioner was running constantly. Upon inspecting her attic, we found that she had only about 5 inches of insulation present. Because this was well below the Energy Star-recommended 14 inches, Val wanted to have her insulation upgraded as soon as possible.

We began by sealing visible air leakage points using closed-cell foam. This helped to mitigate the flow of air between the hot attic and the home’s living spaces. Next, we blew in premium fiberglass insulation to a depth of 14 inches in order to bring Val’s attic up to the current recommended standard.

As a result of the insulation upgrade, not only will Val and her family enjoy more comfortable temperatures in their home year-round but also reduced heating and cooling costs for as long as they live in their home.

The homeowner had his roof replaced and discovered that his attic insulation was virtually nonexistent. He found Tyson Energy Solutions through our hundreds of 5-star Google reviews and wanted his insulation upgraded to bring it up to R38, the Energy Star-recommended level for our climate in the Fresno area. He was looking forward to having his attic properly insulated so that he could save money on his monthly heating and cooling bills and helping his home maintain a comfortable temperature year-round.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points with closed-cell foam to help prevent airflow between the attic and the home’s living spaces. We then blew in 12 inches of premium fiberglass insulation, bringing the attic up to current building codes. We were able to finish the job in about 2 hours.

As a result of the insulation upgrade, the homeowner and his family will enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home during summer, a warmer home in winter, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for as long as they reside there.

The homeowner called Tyson Energy Solutions because their energy bills were high and their home felt uncomfortably warm during the extreme heat of summer in the Central Valley. Upon inspection, we discovered that their insulation did not meet the Energy Star recommended level, which was contributing to energy loss in his home.

We increased the level of insulation in the attic by blowing in premium, Johns Manville fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches. This brought the attic up to the Energy Star recommended R38 level of insulation. We also sealed holes and gaps in the attic to prevent air leakage between the attic and the living spaces of the home.

Since our premium fiberglass insulation doesn’t settle over time, this homeowner will be able to enjoy the lower heating and cooling costs and a more comfortable home for the life of his house.

We were called out to Hanford, CA by a homeowner who was complaining of high energy bills, an extremely hot house, and having issues with indoor air quality. We visited his house and performed an attic inspection which revealed a neglected attic: old, dirty insulation, old roofing debris scattered throughout the attic, and multiple points of air leakage.

We explained to him that all of these issues are caused by a contaminated, leaky attic and can be easily remedied with an attic restoration.

We began the attic restoration by extracting and disposing of the old insulation. We then cleaned and sanitized the attic using Nisus DSV sanitizer. This is a concentrated disinfectant, cleaner, mildewstat, fungicide, and sanitizer that kills a broad spectrum of viruses, bacteria, and fungi. Once we had a clean attic to work with, we identified all areas where air leakage could occur and sealed those areas with closed-cell foam. This included all top plates, wire and plumbing penetrations, and registers. By sealing the attic, it prevents from flowing between the attic and the home’s living spaces. Additionally, we installed barriers at any potential rodent entry points to prevent them from accessing the attic. We cleared the soffit vents to ensure improved ventilation of the attic space.

Now the homeowner and his family enjoy a comfortable home all year round, with no more dust flowing into the house causing allergies, and their heating and cooling costs will be reduced for their home’s lifetime.
