Chris contacted us because he was interested in getting a whole house fan. He saw us in Fresno Home Magazine and was intrigued at the prospect of reducing his cooling costs by up to 90% while also making his home feel immediately cooler by 5-10 degrees. When we inspected his attic, we found that we were able to install a QuietCool whole house fan, but his insulation was also low, contributing to his HVAC inefficiency and high cooling costs. We determined that an insulation upgrade and whole house fan installation were the solution to his home comfort issues.
We began by identifying the ideal location to place the QuietCool Stealth Pro 7.0 and installed it. Simultaneously, we sealed visible leakage points using closed-cell foam to mitigate the flow of air between the attic and the living spaces of the home. We then blew in fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches, bringing the resistance to heat flow to an R38 level. This is the Energy Star-recommended level for our climate.
As a result of the insulation upgrade and whole house fan installation, Chris and his family will enjoy reduced cooling costs by up to 90%, reduced heating costs by up to 30%, and a more comfortable home year-round for the life of their house.
Roy contacted us because he was looking to have the attic space above his garage insulated. Because he spends a lot of time in his garage and he also wants it to stay cooler because of his vehicles, he needed insulation installed. We inspected the space and found that there was no insulation present, so we determined that an insulation upgrade to R38 was needed.
We began by air-sealing visible leakage points using closed-cell foam in order to prevent the flow of air between the attic and the garage. We then blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to an R38 level.
As a result of the insulation upgrade, Roy’s garage will be much cooler during the summer months, warmer during the winters, and will be more comfortable year-round for as long as he resides in the home.
Yvonne reached out to us because her home constantly felt hot and stuffy, despite the fact that her air conditioner ran constantly. She was looking to not only keep her house cool, but also reduce her cooling bills, which were high in her 2300 sq. ft. home. When we inspected her attic, we discovered that she only had about 4 inches of insulation present, and there was evidence of rodent activity, including deceased rodents sitting atop her old insulation. Because of this, we determined that a comprehensive attic restoration was needed.
We began the process by sucking out all of the old insulation. We then cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer, eliminating contaminants and irritants from the space. Next, we installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other pests from entering the attic in the future. We also thoroughly air-sealed all holes, gaps, and cracks using closed-cell foam. This included top plates, plumbing and wiring penetrations, registers, and recessed lighting. This is done to prevent air from flowing between the attic and the living spaces of the home. Lastly, we blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, bringing the attic up to the Energy Star-recommended level.
As a result of the total attic restoration we performed, Yvonne and her family will experience a cool, comfortable home during hot months, a warmer home during winter, better indoor air quality, and reduced heating and cooling bills by up to 50% for as long as they reside in the home.
Joel had a 500 sq. ft. addition in his home that needed additional insulation added. When the addition as built, it had insulation added, but it was only about 8 inches, 6 inches below the Energy Star recommendation for our climate here in the Central Valley. We determined that an insulation upgrade to R38 was needed to help Joel’s home maintain a comfortable temperature year-round while also reducing his heating and cooling costs.
In less than two hours, we blew in the additional insulation, bringing the home to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.
As a result of the insulation upgrade, Joel will enjoy reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 25% and a more even, comfortable temperature for as long as he resides in that home.
This customer was seeking help with his energy bills. We performed an insulation upgrade bringing the insulation from 3 inches to 14 inches.
