David reached out to us on the recommendation of a friend who had recently had a whole house fan installed. He was looking to reduce his summer cooling costs while also making his home feel more cool and comfortable during the hot Central Valley summers. When we inspected his attic, we determined that he had plenty of room to install a whole house fan.
We began the project by identifying the ideal spot to place the fan and installing it. We ensured that there was proper ventilation for the fan to work effectively. We also showed David how to use to two-speed timer remote and explained the 15-year QuietCool warranty. Because the Trident 5.5 was installed by Tyson, David will be able to enjoy it worry-free for the next 15 years. He knows that if there is ever an issue and a warranty claim or repair needs to be made, we will take care of it, free-of-charge.
As a result of the whole house fan installation, David and his family will enjoy a cool, comfortable home during the summer months, better indoor air quality, and reduced cooling bills by up to 50%.
Hilary contacted us because she’d had an HVAC technician at her house, but he told her that her air conditioner wasn’t faulty, she was just low on insulation. When we came out and inspected her attic, we found that she was indeed low; she had only 5 inches of insulation present in her attic. We determined that to help Hilary achieve her goals of a cool, more comfortable home and lower cooling bills, an insulation upgrade was the best option.
We began by air-sealing visible leakage points using closed-cell foam. This helps to prevent air from flowing between the home’s living spaces and the attic. We also built a barrier around her attic access to ensure that insulation would not spill out of the attic access. We then blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, bringing her attic to the Energy Star-recommended level.
Because of the work that we completed for Hilary, she and her family will now enjoy a cool, comfortable home during the summers, a warmer home during winters, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for the life of their house.
Jerome contacted Tyson because his home was constantly hot and stuffy in the summer and frigid in the winter. He was frustrated because he was constantly running his HVAC system in an attempt to keep his home a comfortable temperature and humidity level. When we inspected his attic, we discovered that Jerome only had about 6 inches of insulation. This was the root of his home’s temperature discomfort and high heating and cooling costs. We decided that an insulation upgrade would be the best option for Jerome and his family to achieve their goals.
We began by air-sealing visible leakage points. We then blew in fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches, achieving the R38 recommended level prescribed by Energy Star.
Because of the insulation upgrade, Jerome and his family will experience a more comfortable home temperature year-round and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for as long as they live in the home.
Jacob attended the Home Show in Fresno at the beginning of the year and discovered Tyson Energy Solutions. After learning more about how an attic restoration could benefit him, he asked Tyson to come and take a look at his attic to see how a restoration might benefit him. We scheduled a time to inspect his attic and found that he only had about 3-4 inches of old insulation present. After seeing the pictures of how under-insulated his attic was, Jacob decided to go ahead and have us do a full attic restoration in order to make his home more comfortable and improve his indoor air quality.
The attic restoration process went through the following steps:
- Remove the old, dirty insulation.
- Clean and sanitize the attic to eliminate irritants and contaminants.
- Air-seal leakage points including top plates, registers, recessed lights, and plumbing and wiring penetrations.
- Install rodent-proof barriers at potential entry points.
- Blow-in 14 inches of new fiberglass insulation to an R38 level.
Jacob’s home is now easily able to retain its conditioned air all year round. This means that not only is his home cool during summer and toasty during winter, but his indoor air quality is also greatly improved. Jacob can be confident that his attic will remain rodent-free and his heating and cooling costs will be lowered by up to 50% for the life of his home.
This customer had 6 inches of insulation in the attic. We increased it to 14 inches.
