The homeowner contacted us because her home felt extremely hot all the time, and she was becoming increasingly concerned about how high her cooling costs were. We inspected her attic and found that she only had about 4-5 inches of insulation. We determined that an insulation upgrade up to R38 would help her home stay cool and also reduce her cooling bills.
We began by sealing visible air leakage points, which helps prevent air from traveling between the attic and the living spaces of the home. Next, we blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches, bringing the home up to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level of protection.
As a result of the insulation upgrade, this homeowner and her family will enjoy a more comfortable home and reduced heating and cooling costs year-round up to 30% for as long as they live in that house.
Alvaro contacted Tyson Energy Solutions because his air conditioner was running constantly and his heating and cooling costs were high year-round. He was looking for a permanent fix that would help reduce his bills. When we came out and took a look in his attic, we discovered that he only had about 3-4 inches of insulation present, with a lot of roofing debris scattered throughout. We determined that a comprehensive attic restoration would best meet his needs.
We began by removing the old insulation and disposing of it. We then cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer in order to eliminate any contaminants or irritants. Next, we thoroughly air-sealed leakage points such as plumbing and wiring penetrations, recessed lighting, registers, and top plates. We also installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other animals from entering the space. To finish, we blew in fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches.
As a result of the full attic restoration we completed, Alvaro's air conditioner will run less frequently while cooling the house more effectively than before, and his heating and cooling costs will be reduced by up to 50% for as long as he lives in that house.
The homeowner contacted us because her home was cold in the winter, hot in the summer, and extremely dusty. The indoor air quality was so bad that her cat was suffering from allergies. When we inspected her attic, we discovered that there was evidence of rodent activity, including an HVAC duct that had been gnawed through and was covered in rodent feces. We determined that the best course of action was an attic restoration and replacement of the broken duct.
We began by sucking out all the old, contaminated insulation and disposing of it. We then replaced the broken duct and cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer, which helps eliminate contaminants and irritants. Next, we meticulously air-sealed leakage points including top plates, registers, recessed lights, and plumbing/wiring penetrations. At this point, we also installed rodent-proof barriers to keep rodents and other pests from re-entering the attic. Lastly, we blew in 14 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation to bring the attic to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.
As a result of the duct replacement and attic restoration, the homeowner's heating and cooling costs will be reduced by up to half and the indoor air quality will be greatly improved as the attic air is no longer contaminated with rodent feces and won't be flowing freely into the living spaces of the home.
Frank contacted Tyson Energy Solutions because the costs to cool his large house were becoming unmanageable. On top of that, Frank said his home never really felt cool and comfortable. When we checked out his attic, we discovered that he only had about 5-6 inches of old insulation present, with his floor joists visible through the insulation. Since his home was built in 1947 and had been neglected for almost 70 years, we determined that an attic restoration was in order to help Frank achieve his goals.
We began the attic restoration by vacuuming out all of the old insulation and debris. We then used DSV sanitizer to clean and sanitize the attic, eliminating irritants and contaminants. Once the attic was clean, we installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents from entering the attic. We also used closed-cell foam to seal off air leakage points. This includes top plates, registers, wiring and plumbing penetrations, and recessed lights. This helps prevent air from being able to travel between the attic and the home's living spaces. Lastly, we blew in 14 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation to bring the attic up to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.
Due to the complete attic restoration, Frank and his family will enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home during summers, a warmer home during winters, better indoor air quality, and reduced heating and cooling costs for as long as they live in their home.
The homeowner contacted Tyson Energy Solutions because she felt as though her home could never stay cool. Her air conditioner turned on and off frequently, and it was causing her cooling bills to be high. She believed the issue was with her insulation. When we came and inspected her attic, we confirmed this to be true. She only had about three inches of insulation present, as well as lots of old roofing debris scattered throughout the attic. We determined that to help her house retain its conditioned air and reduce her cooling costs, an insulation upgrade was needed.
We began by removing the roofing debris and air-sealing visible leakage points. Preventing air from leaking between the attic and the living spaces of the home helps mitigate energy loss. We then blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches, bringing the attic up to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.
As a result of the insulation upgrade, this homeowner and her family will enjoy lower heating and cooling costs and more comfortable indoor temperatures year-round for as long as they live in that home.
