Steve reached out to us because his large home was becoming unmanageably expensive to heat and cool. With the summer right around the corner, Steve wanted to address the issue ASAP. When we came out and inspected his attic, we found that it had only about 3-4 inches of old, dirty insulation, with lots of roofing debris scattered throughout the attic. We determined that a complete attic restoration was his best option.
To begin, we sucked out all of the old insulation and disposed of it. We then used DSV sanitizer to clean the attic. Next, we meticulously sealed air leakage points to help prevent air from being able to move between the attic and the living spaces of the home. We also installed rodent-proof barriers to ensure that rodents and other pests would be deterred from entering the attic. Lastly, we blew in new fiberglass insulation to an R38 level -- 14 inches.
As a result of the comprehensive attic restoration, Steve and his family will not only enjoy reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30%, but also more comfortable temperatures and better indoor air quality for the life of their home.
This homeowner contacted us because his home was hot during the summer months, with some rooms in the house getting so hot, that no one wanted to spend time in them. When we inspected his attic, we discovered that his home only had 3-4 inches of insulation, with the joists being uncovered by insulation and roofing debris scattered throughout the attic. In the areas of the home that were significantly warmer, we saw that there was little to no insulation. We determined that we needed to upgrade his insulation to help the house retain its cool air.
We started by air-sealing visible leakage points to help prevent air from traveling between the hot attic and the home's living spaces. We then blew in fiberglass insulation to a level of R38, or 14 inches.
As a result of the insulation upgrade, this homeowner was able to immediately notice a difference in how frequently his air conditioner was turning on and running, and the rooms in the home that were once unlivable became cool and comfortable. The family will be able to enjoy a more comfortable home and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for as long as they live in their house.
Jerry and Gigi reached out to us seeking a resolution to their hot and stuffy home and high cooling bills. We came out to their home and inspected their attic and found the root cause of their uncomfortable home: the attic only had about 3 inches of insulation present. We determined that an insulation upgrade was needed to help them achieve their goals of reduced bills and a more comfortable house.
We began by air-sealing visible leakage points. This helps prevent the flow of air between the attic and the home's living spaces. Next, we blew in 10 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation, bringing the attic to the R38 level recommended by Energy Star.
As a result of the upgrade we performed, Jerry and Gigi will enjoy a cool, comfortable home during the summers, a warmer home during winters, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for the life of their home.
Adrian contacted Tyson Energy Solutions because his home was hot and uncomfortable and he knew the issue wasn't his air conditioner. He was frustrated with his home's discomfort and the fact that his cooling costs were so high. When we inspected his attic, we discovered that the problem was his insulation. He only had about 5 inches present, well below the R38 level recommended by Energy Star. We determined that an insulation upgrade was the best option for him to improve the comfort of his home and reduce his cooling costs.
We began by air-sealing visible leakage points with closed-cell foam. This helps to prevent air from flowing between the attic and the living spaces of the home, thus keeping the conditioned air inside of the home. We then blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to a level of R38, or 14 inches.
As a result of the insulation upgrade we performed, not only will his home be more cool and comfortable during the summers, but it will also be warmer during winter and his cooling and heating bills will be lowered by up to 30% for as long as he lives in that home.
Manuel contacted us because he was referred by a friend who'd had an attic fan installed and encouraged Manuel to do the same. Manuel was looking to boost the performance of his HVAC system by cooling his attic.
We came out to Manuel's house and found the perfect spot to install the QuietCool Smart Gable Attic Fan 3.0. We blocked off the gable vent around the fan to ensure that it properly operated and was able to pull cooler outside air into the attic. We also paired the app on Manuel's phone to the fan to be able to monitor its operation. Because the fan is set to automatically operate when the attic reaches a certain temperature and humidity, he can monitor its usage but doesn't have to manually turn it on and off.
As a result of the fan installation, Manuel's attic will be cooler, which will help his HVAC system to operate more efficiently, saving him energy and money on his monthly cooling costs.
