Joseph was looking for an insulation company to come and add insulation in his attic in order to make his home more comfortable and lower his heating and cooling bills. He did a Google search and was impressed by Tyson Energy Solutions and our hundreds of 5-star reviews. He reached out to us to come and inspect his attic, and when we did, we found that his attic was a mess. Not only did he only have about 4 inches of insulation present, but his attic was also littered with debris, which poses a fire hazard, and rodent droppings. We found dozens of air leakage points, so as a result, Joseph decided he wanted an attic restoration performed.
The project was comprised of the following steps:
1) we removed the old, contaminated insulation and debris
2) we cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer
3) we air-sealed all of the leakage points, including top plates, registers, recessed lights, and plumbing and wiring penetrations
4) we installed mesh rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other pests from coming into the attic
5) we blew in new fiberglass insulation to an R38 level
Because of the comprehensive work we did, Joseph and his family now enjoy the following benefits:
1) reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 50% for as long as they reside in the home
2) a cool, comfortable home in summer and a warm, cozy home in winter
3) better indoor air quality
4) less dust in the home
5) greatly reduced chance of fire spreading due to removal of attic debris
6) inability for rodents to enter the attic
7) higher home value
Bethany contacted us because she believed her attic insulation was low and she was looking for attic insulation cost. She found multiple insulation companies but was impressed by Tyson being the top-reviewed insulation company in Fresno. We came and inspected her attic and found that Bethany's attic only had 7 inches of fiberglass insulation present. She decided to add an additional 7 inches on top to bring her attic up to the R38 level recommended by Energy Star.
We placed markers in the attic to show the insulation depth before and after the insulation upgrade. We then blew in an extra 7 inches of fiberglass insulation, taking only 2 hours to complete the job.
Now, Bethany and her family get to enjoy a cooler, more comfortable home during summer, a warmer home in winter, and reduced heating and cooling bills by up to 30% for as long as they live there.
This customer had 6 inches of insulation in the attic. We increased it to 14 inches.
Herman contacted us when his wife's severe allergies forced them to vacate their home. Suspecting the old attic insulation as the culprit, they enlisted our expertise to assess the situation. Our inspection revealed contaminated and dirty insulation, with multiple leakage points allowing attic air and dust into the living space. Taking decisive action, we removed the compromised insulation, meticulously air-sealed the attic floor, and installed can light covers over all recessed lighting for insulation protection and enhanced air sealing. After sanitizing the attic, we upgraded the insulation to R38. With these comprehensive measures, Herman and his wife can now return home to enjoy a healthier indoor environment with cleaner air.
The homeowner contacted us because his two-story home was uncomfortably warm as we approached another scorching Central Valley summer. Additionally, his home had two HVAC systems working to keep his house cool, and his cooling bills were already becoming unmanageable with the rising cost of energy. When we inspected his attic, we found that it only had about 6 inches of insulation, and he had several HVAC ducts that were broken and leaking air. In addition to replacing the broken HVAC ducts, we determined that an attic restoration would best help him achieve his goals of attaining a cool, comfortable home and lowering his cooling bills.
We began by sucking out all of the old, contaminated insulation and disposing of it. We then identified all of the HVAC ducts that were broken and leaking air and installed R6 flex ducts in their place. Next we cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer. Once we had an empty and sanitized workspace, we identified air leakage points -- including top plates, wire and plumbing penetrations, and recessed lighting -- and sealed it using closed-cell foam to prevent air from traveling between the hot attic and the living spaces of the home. We also installed rodent-proof barriers to keep rodents and other pests from entering the space. Lastly, we blew in 14 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation to bring the attic up to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.
As a result of the duct replacement and attic restoration, the homeowner and his family will enjoy the following benefits:
1) better indoor air quality
2) reduced heating and cooling bills by up to 30%
3) more comfortable temperatures in their home year-round
4) higher resell appeal should they ever decide to sell their home
5) they will never have to have this work done again -- it's a one-time investment
6) reduced wear and tear on their HVAC systems
